Public art helps you think outside the (signal) box
Have you noticed the colorful art appearing on those drab intersection signal boxes? By thinking outside the box, CAA developed and launched this signal box wrap project – the first in Pinellas County! – and will continue to install these colorful wraps around town.
As part of its continuing mission to advocate for and promote public art in Clearwater, CAA began engaging local artists to provide images for installation on traffic signal boxes in Clearwater beginning in 2016. In 2017, CAA did an additional call to artists to provide artwork for its growing number of signal boxes. The project now has 27 locations all throughout Clearwater, with more locations to follow!
CAA, a 501c3 nonprofit art support organization, seeks private and corporate sponsors to help beautify Clearwater while providing public art for residents and visitors, and supporting local artists.
