Supporting the arts has always been a key objective for the Clearwater Arts Alliance and its membership, but never has Arts Advocacy been more critical than it is today. It has been proven that art-related activities in a child’s education will produce a smarter, more creative, and more successful student. Teaching kids about the arts helps develop their social and emotional skills as well. Advocating for the arts enhances every community and it makes good business sense, too.

Below are some ways that YOU can get involved in Arts Advocacy:

Arts and Economic Prosperity 5 is a nationwide study conducted by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s nonprofit organization for advancing the representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for arts in America. The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and Creative Pinellas joined forces to focus on the economic impact of the arts for Pinellas County.

The Florida Cultural Alliance (FCA) is a not-for-profit organization created in 1983. Its purpose is to develop an informed and engaged statewide non-partisan advocacy network among arts and culture organizations; individuals; artists; businesses; and local, state, and federal policymakers and staff to work more collaboratively and strategically to secure funding and policies to move arts, arts education, and culture forward throughout Florida communities to make these arts and cultural experiences more accessible to more people.

Since 1981, Florida Alliance for Arts Education (FAAE) has united educators, artists, community leaders, concerned citizens, arts education organizations, arts institutions and corporate partners to ensure Florida’s students a complete education that includes the arts. Through the arts, the quality of life for all Floridians is improved and enhanced.
