The recent decision by Governor Ron DeSantis to veto nearly all arts funding has left a significant gap in resources, impacting 663 arts and cultural organizations across Florida, including some in Clearwater. In light of this news, we encourage you to consider supporting local artists, contributing to our arts advocacy efforts within the City of Clearwater, and giving directly to the affected institutions listed below. As Pinellas County’s non-profit local arts agency, we provide funding and support to artists of all kinds throughout the county, and we connect businesses, tourism and the public with the arts community. Our mission is to foster and sustain a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative arts community across Pinellas County. We provide support, connection, and opportunities to artists, organizations, and the public in order to grow and sustain the area as an internationally recognized arts and cultural destination.
The Florida Cultural Alliance (FCA) is a not-for-profit organization created in 1983. Its purpose is to develop an informed and engaged statewide non-partisan advocacy network among arts and culture organizations; individuals; artists; businesses; and local, state, and federal policymakers and staff to work more collaboratively and strategically to secure funding and policies to move arts, arts education, and culture forward throughout Florida communities to make these arts and cultural experiences more accessible to more people.
Since 1981, Florida Alliance for Arts Education (FAAE) has united educators, artists, community leaders, concerned citizens, arts education organizations, arts institutions and corporate partners to ensure Florida’s students a complete education that includes the arts. Through the arts, the quality of life for all Floridians is improved and enhanced. Programs and opportunities of Florida Alliance for Arts Education reach all corners of the state and touch thousands of lives each year as they bring schools and communities together to improve, enhance and promote arts education.

Established by Congress in 1965, the NEA is the independent federal agency whose funding and support gives Americans the opportunity to participate in the arts, exercise their imaginations, and develop their creative capacities. Through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector, the NEA supports arts learning, affirms and celebrates America’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, and extends its work to promote equal access to the arts in every community across America.
